Alteon Health Emergency Medicine Fellowship – Birmigham, AL

Alteon Health recognizes the continuing need for properly trained Emergency Medicine physicians. To fill the gap in clinical knowledge and skills, an extensive one year Post Primary Care Emergency Medicine Fellowship has been developed for primary care physicians. Alteon Health’s Post Primary Care Emergency Medicine Fellowship is recognized by the American Academy of Emergency Physicians. Our mission is to train and educate Post Primary Care Physicians using various educational modalities that allows the physician to obtain the skills necessary to provide quality care for patients in an Emergency Department setting.

The Fellowship employs innovative means to educate Post Primary Care Physicians through mentorship, education, and professional development, thus providing higher quality patient care while partnering with our hospitals. Upon completion, the physician is prepared to apply for and complete the written and oral examination for Board Certification in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Physician Specialist. Many of our graduates go on to work in emergency departments while others are working in an urgent care setting. We hope you will take advantage of this website, review our Facebook page to see our latest activities, review our calendar for upcoming lectures and meetings, and contact us for any questions.
